NEW: Type- EV RCBO At 36mm Width For 3.5/7kW Mode-3 EV Charging

At the beginning of 2021, Bituo introduced a new RCBO used for residual current protection at mode-3 Electrical Vehicle (EV) charging. Our new eFAB type-EV RCBO is an integrated type-A residual current circuit breaker with over-current protection (Type-A RCBO) and residual direct current protective device (RDC-PD).  The product is designed for a mode-3 EV charging system to meet residual current protection requested by IEC 61851-1 & IEC 60364-7-722. Both AC 30mA (A Type) and 6 mA DC residual current protection is integrated into the device with 36mm width.

 

Unlike RDC-MD and mRCD complying with IEC 629555 and IEC 60947-2-(M) respectively, the eFAB type-EV RCBO trips independent of main-circuit relays/contactors in the occurrence of AC/DC fault current (see configuration 3). It is an ideal solution for EV charger manufacturers and installers that mitigate their risks of being involved in electrical accidents.
